Most Travel Medical plans will only cover Covid-19 testing if the insured is symptomatic for Covid-19 and a test is recommended by a physician for diagnostic purposes. Voluntary screening/testing including at-home tests are not covered. The CoverAmerica-Gold plan offers a Public Health Emergency Screening benefit of up to $150 for a one-time Covid-19 test. The Covid-19 tests are not for pre-travel requirement purposes. Please review the CoverAmerica-Gold policy document for any limits and exclusions.
CFAR is an optional benefit that can be added to some trip insurance policies. The benefit allows a policyholder to cancel their trip for any reason and still receive some type of reimbursement, usually up to 75% of the cost. Whether you have to cancel because of personal preference or any other non-covered reason, this insurance has you covered.
Travel insurance, trip insurance, travel medical insurance and visitor insurance are often used interchangably but have many notable differences. Trip insurance, sometimes called generally referred to as travel insurance, provides coverage for travel-related risks such as trip cancellation, loss of baggage and loss of travel documents, whereas travel medical insurance, also known as visitors insurance, provides coverage for any new, unexpected illness or injury that may occur during your travels. Most of the comprehensive travel insurance plans we offer provide coverage for both travel-related incidents as well as unexpected medical situations that may arise as a result of accident or emergency while abroad. Additionally, many of our comprehensive plans provide other benefits, such as emergency evacuation and repatriation.
